Wheel Lug Compatibility

Have a 94 850 and 98 V70

Can anyone tell me what other wheel lug patterns are compatible? Looging on Craigslist for winter tires/wheels and there are alot out there for S60/S80 etc.

Thanks,
Chris

They're all 5x108, just depends on the offset and I dunno if the bore size is different between the cars or not.

I seem to remember that the 94's had a 4 lug hub. If that is the case then you wouldn't be able to switch wheels. If they are both 5 x 108 then fitting would not be a problem. Just try to keep the offset similar.

I would suggest going to a junk yard that has volvo's and get a set of wheels there. Then get some winter tires for them. They have some good ALL SEASON tire out now that may work for you as well.

I can remember a while back that iPd or some company sold some studded snow belts that were easy to put on and take off for those bad snow days.

93's were 4 lug, then 94's and up were the 5x108

Pretty much every Volvo ever made was a 5x108 with the exception of the 93 Volvo 850. Also, all the FWD cars and the Volvo 960 have the same offset.

93 or 94, I couldn't remember. Thanks for the correction.

the s40 (2000-2004) has a four lug setup. i think the rest are 5 lug

All the way until 2004 the S40 was four lug??? Weird.

i *think* so. the early builds were 4 lug as far as i have seen. 05+ were the late builds.

The S40 until 2004 was an unusual car. It was actually a joint project between Volvo and Mitsubishi, built in the Netherlands. Mitsubishi sold it as the Mitsubishi Carisma in Europe. Thankfully, there wasn't a whole lot of parts on that car that was actually Mitsubishi- sourced, but I'm guessing that the hubs might be.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Carisma for more info.
