Is there any way the turbo would have an effect on the auto trans? When I first got my car, I didn't realize but my turbo wasn't hooked up. Also, it used to really slam into 2nd gear when you were in the gas. When I hooked up and then eventually chaged the turbo, I noticed that under boost it shifts much smoother. Any connection?

 

I doubt it. Was it in sport mode before and Econo mode now?

 

It happened in both modes only while getting into it though.

 

Was it sitting a little while before you got it?

 

Well I'm not sure how long it sat before I got it. I do know that maintenance was not a priority with the previous owner. I have also had a strange trans issue before that resolved itself. Like last winter in the snow, we had about 8-10 inches and I had to drive in it. When i got to the cleard roads it drove fine until I hit a small puddle, then it was like it started slipping into gear and wouldnt go out of 2nd. The whole while the trans warning light was flashing and I couldnt select econo or sport. 3 hours later, it was fine, never happened again. I dunno if that pertains ANYTHING! lol but Its just some background on the trans.

 

If the tranny fluid is dirty I would do a couple of drain and refills and see from there.
