Engine Fan Still Running AFTER New Temp Sensor
 

Hi all,

Had my mechanic install a new temperature sensor as my engine fan would run after short trips at low speeds and of course long trips. After new sensor, it’s still happening but less frequently, and intermittently, but also weirdly — short trips (hit or miss) long trips (only sometimes). Used to be all trips!! However in hot weather today it ran until it killed my battery (yay).
The temp gauge on dash never showed any sign of change or overheating. Also I’ve had the car for 8+ years and this is only started in the last year or so about when I hit around 100K.

Sure, my mechanic is researching it but I thought I’d ask here for more ideas.
