Hello,

I own a 2011 volvo c30 T5-R manual transmission with about 144000 miles on it.

I replaced the rear upper control arms and had the car aligned and shortly after ended up with the following squeak randomly when driving. I can reproduce a similar noise when putting considerable weight through the suspension as can be seen in the video.

Let me know if you have any ideas what is the culprit or if you have seen this before? I have spent a considerable amount of time going through and testing different suspension parts.

 

have you tried spraying some penetrating oil like PB Blaster on various bushings etc to see if that temporarily quiets the noise? I've had squeaks from strut mounts in the front and from broken springs, a common Gen 1 S40 issue where the last 2-3 inches of the spring breaks and you get a rough end of the spring rubbing on the perch.
