Where is AC relay on c30?
Hi all,
Just bought a C30 SE 1.6D, low mileage, bargain price.
A few dinks here n there but can't fault it, lovely drive.
The only issue I am facing is getting the AC to work. The guy said he used it just last week but not often, in this boiling weather I'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I have been trying to trouble shoot as best I can from YouTube etc. and I'm wanting to find/test the relay to see if faulty and if power is getting to the compressor to engage the clutch.
The AC clutch (or the visible wheel part) turns with a little bit of resistance, and the gap is approx 0.5mm. I know it should be 0.3, but would a difference of 0.2 stop the magnet from working?
I have located the AC clutch fuse, but online I keep seeing/hearing about the AC relay but can't seem to find it. Everything on the fuse diagrams is relating to other functions of the car, nothing about AC relay (Apart from the fuse).
Could somebody please point me in the direction of the AC relay (diagram or something), and/or if the c30 even has a relay or is it just this obvious fuse? Before I go down the root of replacing the whole thing, which I don't want the expense... or start removing wheels to get access to the compressor to do further tests, or even attempting to remove the compressor power cable to test and get my arm stuck down there lol.
Hopefully it's just a simple cheap electrical issue.
Thanks for your help.
