1998 C70 Value?

Unfortunately it is looking like we might have to sell our 1998 c70 HT Coupe because of financial reasons. It is Saffron Orange/black interior, automatic, ~140k mi and is in very good condition. KBB is saying that it is only worth about $3500. 2 years ago (when we bought it) it was worth over $5500 according to KBB. How could it have depreciated that much in just 2 years? I could understand if it was a new car, but it is almost 15 years old and I would have thought that its value was pretty close to bottomed out when we bought it. I know that some vehicles don't exactly follow KBB's value (Some vehicles are going for more and some for less than KBB values).

It has: Recent timing belt service, Oil pan o-rings, New air pump/valve/all hoses, New pcv system, New axles, front wheel bearing, rebuilt ABS box, Poly torque mount, Tint, V70R (I think) wheels, Regular synthetic oil changes, etc.... only thing that doesn't work is the antenna is stuck in the up position.

Realistically, what would this car be worth?

Just trying to figure out if I'm gonna lose my butt on this thing or not.

Thanks.

probably will loose your butt, i bought my 98 convertible about 4 months ago and KBB was just a little over 3k. everyone i know thinks i paid a ton for the car just because what it is, but in reality i over paid a little in my opinion.
in all honestly you wouldn't get even close to that $3500 on a vovlo forum your best bet is to hope to find some sucker that see's a vovlo and thinks it's worth more than it really is (like me admittedly). good luck with your sale

Not sure what's with the 1998s, I just bought a 1999 manual for 4k and KBB is 4.8k... depends on where you live and the state of the economy (used car values go up when economy is in the ****ter)
