2000 C70 LPT Cabrio - vibration 40-50mph

Greetings fellow C70'ers. Noticed of late a moderately loud 'wobble' or oscillating sound when car is driving ca. 40-50mph, before and after which is not so audible. Have ruled out the following: new rims (Mottino 17"); new tires (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/45ZR17, in balance and aligned); new front wheel main bearing (set). When noise is active, or at least within hearing range, have slipped transmission into neutral while rolling - the noise persists (which led me to think a front wheel bearing issue... again, now ruled out for new bearings...)

Thinking now maybe that the previous OEM rims, at least two of which were bent and were wobbly despite efforts to balance out tires, may have adversely impacted the transmission bearing(s) and/or axle (?)

Welcome any thoughts... similar experience... etc.! Thanks so much, V'Vark1
