2011 C70 Immobilization Error & Window Issue

I picked up my 2011 C70 with 83k miles a few months ago. So far, only a couple (apparently common) issues like the headliner dropping. I'm in NC which seems to be a hotbed for failing headliner adhesive.

Anyway, in the past couple of weeks I've had some issues, mainly a sluggish start and then the immobilizer kicks in. A few times, I've needed to jump start the car. A few other times the auto up/down function stopps working meaning when I close my door the window does not lift up leaving a gap between the top of the window and weatherstrip.

Is this a battery issue? Key fob battery issue? Battery issue? Alternator issue?

I love this car but this issue is a concern. I don't want to end up stranded. The first time this happened I left the car in the long term lot of the airport for a few days. When I got into it late the night I arrived, I thought it wouldn't start and it took multiple tries to get the thing going.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to have the vehicle checked for codes. A low or failing battery will mess up the push button start. Generally speaking, newer cars are very sensitive to voltage drops and a shallow battery that has only a relatively few amps in reserve before the voltage starts dropping off will not work everything satisfactorily.

I've seen this phenomenon on Mercedes where if it sees power use and can't keep up it will shut off accessories.

We has similar issues in our C70. I believe it was battery related, but I do recall the imobilizer had a battery in it as well that would die and cause it to need to be replaced. I would try a new vehicle battery first, as at 7 years, if it is original it is considered "End of Useful Life"

You guys were 100% correct. I ended up having to jump the battery because it completely died last week. I replaced the battery and not a single issue since.

Thank you for the help!

Glad it worked out for you and it was just the battery. This is reminding me I should start preparing to replace the one in our 2012 soon...
