2013 C70 brake kits?
 

Hi All,
New to the Forum but not a new C70 owner (currently have a '13 with Polestar, 18" wheels, 55K km).
Question: What brake kit might one recommend for full front and back replacement?
Brakes have never been done and still no vibrations when braking under either soft or hard braking. Would moving to a slotted/drilled rotor with better pads offer anything substantially safer than the stock flat rotors and pads currently on the vehicle.

the idea of slotted/drilled rotors is to vent off the hot gasses created during repeated hard braking. "better pads" is kind of a misnomer - there are different pad compounts - organic, metallic, ceramic etc which are designed to provide different feel - organics are softer so they have initial bite for better day to day driving, metallic have bits of metal in the compound to reduce wear and make the pads more resistant to fade, ceramic uses inorganic materials to do the same with less dust but are harder with less initial bite, but are even more resistant to fade. Fade happens when the surface of the pads get very hot and literally boils off material reducing the friction. This would be typical if you did say 3-4 back to back panic stops or had to do repeated extended braking going down a long mountain road. Big brake kits also reduce fade by expanding the rotor's surface area as a way to reduce heat, and may use multi-piston calipers to evenly press the pads to the disk. So to say big brake kits are safter than stock - the answer would be yes in select use cases but not necessarily better in normal day to day driving.
