99 coupe glass molding question

Just bought a 99 coupe yesterday with 126k miles. Never owned a Volvo so I'm pretty excited. In doing a full interior/exterior detailing today, I noticed the rear glass rubber seal has disintegrated into little chunks. Also the top molding of the windshield has slighted lifted away from the windshield, so I picked at a it a little, and it started to separate and looked like it was rusted under there. Based on some search, I get the feeling that those are not serviceable items. I wonder if it's possible to just clean those areas off and fill it with some clear silicone (caulk). I think it would work, but if I ever had to replace either glass, I bet the glass people would be majorly pissed off at me! No leaks yet and silicone would probably prevent water problem from ever starting, but my big concern for the front molding is wind noise. I have a log commute and wind noise would get real old real quick.

I would check with a windshield place and see what they say. I checked Vadis it shows a molding seperate but won't give a part # for it.

For the rear window is it the seal between the glass and body?

I just had my rear glass/seal replace on my 02 C70 very expensive a little over $800.00 dollars that with a military discount. Good luck.

Yes, for the rear it's between the glass and body. It has a slight curve to it that sits in the frame. Wow, $800 for rear window is astronomical. I had my Ford windshield replaced and it was only $150. Guess I'd better get used to living the Volvo lifestyle!
