I want to put in a 12 inch subwoofer into the back of my trunk but I am not sure if there will be enough room in the trunk cause I got the covertible.... if not a 12 inch, then a 10 inch? I will probably just through it into a box and hook it up to an amp. Thats it.. will i have enough r

 

You might but would probably be better off with a Bass tube. Like a Bazooka.

I built my own box a number of years ago for my old GT convertable. I still have it. It was built with a tapered design and four 8 inch woofs put face to face in a custom ordered cowl. It had really tight bass. They are really not to hard to build.

 

I wish I knew how to build a good one for my car. The Specs things always mess me up.

This is what I have in there now.

 

You should consider a box about half the size with one 12" in it.

 

I kind of thought of that but I love My BASS.

 

With that little trunk, one 12 in the right box will rattle your toenails off. If you like tight bass I can send you pics and specs for a ported box with four 8's. I can also give you specs for one with the 12. If you were not so far away I would bring them to you.

I just fixed my EQ this weekend and my Crossover and WOW what a difference that made.

10 is rattling my mirrors.

Sorry it took so long. I still have another box to post as well. I made a mistake on the woofer size. The box I had laying around had two tens. The one with the twelve went bye bye with the old car. The dimmensions of the box with the tens are 22.5x14.5x15. This is high density plywood. This is more than enough for a C70 . This box was in my 89 GT so it should be fine for your Mustang. I will get the rest of the dimmensions for the two twelves later. Here are a few pics. I will post the other box with the four 8's later this week.

u wanna know something funny, i fit 3 12" w1's in my s80 t6 trunk and it was and INCREDIBLY TIGHT FIT, like it was wider than the trunk opening by a few inches(width of the box was like 40 inches).... when i got it in ther it was great, adn then i decided to return it because it will be a problem to get in and out, i ended up gettin a 10w7 made by jl....

 

I was wondering if i can splice the wires going to my subs to add third aftermarket sub ... will this work? the amp is already in place stock...

what do u guys think?

Not sure if it would work the only way to find out is try.
