Another Xenon Light Issue

I have been trying to fix our 2008 C70 drivers side headlight. I have searched the website and have checked the fuses. They are good. New headlight bulb. Works well n passengers but not drivers. Igniter works on passengers side but not on drivers side. Light will flash and turn off. Will not come back on. Normally I get rid of cars when I get into electrical issues. Need help. Any other ideas?

So the Driver's side has the issue, and the bulb and igniter from the driver's side have been tested in the passenger side housing and both work, correct?

This would lead me to believe the issue is probably wiring before the connection to the ignitor. The curve ball is, if I read it correctly, that the light comes on, then goes out, while the passenger side one works as normal? Or do both sides go out and the DS side never work?

I have a 2008 with regular halogens and discovered dry brittle insulation inside the lamp assembly. Volvo must have bought a load of wiring during that period that was prone to drying out and deteriorating under current load and hot temperatures. I have read other similar posts and would look inside the bulb housing.

The xenon lights are typically three pieces. The bulb, the igniter and the module or ballast.

My guess is that the ballast is bad. Very common.
