C70 production
I'm looking at buying a 1999 C70 convertible 2.3L with a 5 speed manual transmission. I've checked many used car sites and never run across a 5speed manual - everything is an automatic. Are 5 speeds rare? Does anyone know the link on C70 production numbers built for 1999 5 speeds? Many thanks
I found one for sale up here in Canada that I'm checking out and it seems to be the only one around which is why I was wondering about how rare this combination really is. It would be great to know the production quantity built but I can't seem to find anything on the net.
Wow -that is a low number. From what I understand, there were only 7,715 C70 convertibles built worldwide in 1999 so even though the high pressure 2.3 twin turbo 5 speed was standard, it seems that most dealers opted for the automatic to compete with the MB 320 and BMW 328i. The more I dig, the more I'm convinced that this is a very rare combination.
I know this is an old thread.
I recently acquired one near Chicago, and like you, can't seem to find production numbers. Gallevato, did you ever find one, or have you determined production numbers. I now have an original drive train red with black top. Motor and transmission work fine, but suspension, brakes and other things are in need of major TLC.
