c70 transmission line - 2011
 

2011 c70 with 61,000 careful miles on it. Wife drives Ohio to NY and car suddenly glides to a stop on a highway entry-ramp at night. Still running but if you press gas, nothing. Stays still, just revs. AAA comes, flatbeds to reputable local garage. Next day, guy says the lower trans cooling line was issue, and it let all the trans fluid leak out. No warning lights went on, nothing. Trans cooked, rebuilt installed. $3,000. Has anybody else had this happen? I am trying to figure out why the line just "failed". No impact to it, Mechanic said hose and connection were bad design, flimsy. Anybody with advice or experience with similar situation? Thanks much !
