c70 trunk access

I recently acquired a 2013 c70. When the hard top is in the trunk, there is an access button that raises the roof slightly to allow greater access into the trunk. The roof elevates a good amount, probably 14 inches or so. But the trunk divider then only raises about 2 inches before it is blocked completely, giving almost no real access to the cargo area. Is the mechanism broken (ie, should the divider raise higher), is there something additional I need to do to raise the divider higher, or is this actually how it is designed?

When you have raised the roof sections you need to pull the divider up at the rear.
Do not forget to press it back down or the button will not work.

Apologize if not the right spot to ask but...……….. Has anyone had occasion to replace (I'll call them ) strut type devices that raise and hold up the trunk divider? Easy to do? Where yo get them?

My owners manual says that you can use the blade portion of the key using the key position in the console to access/unlock the trunk. My car has absolutely no key position in the console. Any other way to access the trunk if the remote does not work?

Duh, da dummy found it!

I accidently figured out how to use the divider

Old thread I know but I was curious about this since the manual is pretty vague. I was having the same issue but I must have finally used the necessary force and the the divider hinge worked, allowing the divider to raise up about 8 or 9 inches in the front. Much better access and then I can load groceries. I tired to do it again and it did not want to and since it is plastic I did not want to break something. Then I found a dealer video where the salesperson demonstrated it and he had to give it a good yank. I did the same and no problems.
