Cooling Fan Stays on for literally 4-5 minutes

Hi Everyone,
New to the forms, hoping someone could help me out. So I have a 2000 Volvo C70 2.4 Low Pressure Turbo with 170k. I replaced my thermostat and coolant temp sensor about 3 months ago with aftermarket brands and my radiator about a month ago. Even after replacing these parts my cooling fan would stay on after the car is off when it's not hot outside like early mornings (I live in Southern California) and if i'm driving relatively hard on the freeway for about 10 miles (from my house to school) and of course when it's hotter on my way back home from school in the afternoons. So I took my car back to my Volvo specialist and we recently (3 days ago) replaced the thermostat with a lower temp genuine Volvo thermostat and leaving the aftermarket coolant temp sensor. But my car's fan has still been staying on. My temp gauge stays in the median of the hot and cold and is not faulty because before I got it replaced it would take forever for the car to reach it's optimal temperature, now the gauge moves up to the ideal temp after leaving the car running for a few minutes. I read that cleaning the MAF sensor might solve my problem, so I just ordered the tamper proof bit from Amazon to clean it. Anyone have any other recommendations or ideas??
-Thanks,
Jazz

I'd be inclined to test out or replace the engine coolant temp sensor. When my ECT sensor went bad on my '00 S40, I had the same symptoms - temp gauge would wander and fan would run on after shut down. Replaced the sensor, good to go. Possible your after market is not quite to spec or has a bad connection. Temp sensors are supposed to have low impedance when cold (under 300 ohms) and high when warm (2000-3000 ohms) so if you have something to test to...

hey thanks for the feedback, I actually ended up selling the car and now own an 06 S60R.
