Default dISC message?

Hey all, just bought a 2000 C70 2.3L from a Volvo Dealership in Chicago. Almost everything is perfect except my fuel milage cluster info. Every once in while, usually when you try tuning the info ***, it will display dISC. I have not been able to find any relevant information about this online or in the owners manual, does anyone know what it means? Do the brake pads have sensors in them to tell you when to replace them? That is my only guess. (i'm assuming it has nothing to do w/ cd player)

The disc means a connection in the switch is lost. Usually means the switch is going bad.

I get that message sometimes too. Switching to another function and then returning to the previous one is a band aid fix. I wonder if it has anything to do with the ETM update we're supposed to get.
