NO OFFICIAL PERFORMANCE ARM????

wow, i can't believe that volvo doesn't have an aftermarket performance arm for it's vehicles. they do have a touring / lemans car right?

i have been looking for a week for a body kit and some nice wheels for my C70 and i'm worn out.

why don't we have (aleast a factory) performance arm like ralliart, STI, mopar, TRD etc???

if volvos are being raced, there should be performance parts company for us.

having to employ my modification skills on my nice new car wouldn't be practical....not now anyway;)

thanks

Volvo makes the R model for some of their cars. Granted they are stopping with that even. Think who the target market is for a volvo. Its old people, who dont want performance, they want luxury. It just happens volvo performance is decent. Especially, the C70. Its a ladies car whether you like it or not.... I drive one, and get hassled by my friends all the time...

lol, thats funny cause the women out here are giving me these "come get me daddy" looks and their driving lexuses and stuff like that.

so i guess i have to go on my own skills and know-how on this huh?

the R models just seem to cater to the S60, 70 and the rest.

Oh ok nope no one is joined with Volvo like that. I wish there was.
The R cars were as follows.
1995 850 T5R
1996-1997 850R
1998-2000 V70R AWD (Rare)
2001 to present V70R AWD
2001S60R AWD to present

I might not be exactly 100% correct with all the years but should be close.

I will be coming up with a few Mods on my own as well.

perhaps you're mistaking it for the look of "Aww how cute, that man is driving his wife's car"

c'mon that was too easy...

1. The Volvo aftermarket scene is not big. If you think it is like Honda, Toyota, Dodge, Suburu, Mitshubishi your wrong. We have a good following but no where near the numbers these guys do. Thusly...

a. You wont find many aftermarket companies.

b. The ones you do find will charge you an arm and a leg for their products.

2. Volvo does race yes, or well it did. Don't know if it still does. They raced the 850 series in the BTCC and ATCC did the same with the 40 series as well. They also ran the s60 as well in some other race.

3. There is no aftermarket company scene that is connected with Volvo directly no. We have independant companies that make parts for Volvo's.

-IPD USA
-EuroSportTuning
-VST
-Evolve
-Viva Performance

Just to name some for you.

I don't know about you but I think there is a decent selection of rims on the market for our Volvo's. Yeah it isn't anywhere near what Honda, etc... is but so be it. We are a small niche market. Also Evolve sells HRE rims, they are very very nice and very exspensive.

yeah i see what you all are saying, i don't think no aftermarket is as big as the other imports.

i know that chick was looking at both the car and me, cause our eyes met. and even if she did think it was my wifes car, she still looked like she wanted a piece :D

ok so, are any of the go fast parts from theR series interchangeable to the non R cars?

is there any other hubs that will work on volvos that will give up more wheel options?

i found some wheels that i like, but the ones i love don't come 5x108mm[:@]

i will make some projects for this C70 and write some how-to with picsfor everybody to enjoy.

1. Depends what year your car is and also the R model is.

2. You can get wheel adapter so that you can run other bolt pattern rims. Just got to find the right ones.

anyplace i can research the compatability of R parts to non R cars?

oh wheel adapters are out friends :Dwhere can i find the right ones?

i may just stay with the volvo bolt pattern, since the only people that would steal them would be another volvo driver LOL

On the 99 and up cars there isn't much electrical that will swap. If it was a 1998 you could swap to a R computer.

I would stay with OEM lug pattern.
