Volvo C70 Centre Console Removal

The rear power outlet and another swith located at the rear of the centre console of my 2004 C70 convertible have dropped inside the console housing.
How do I go about removing the housing (behind the armrest) so that I can relocate the switches?

Two ways
 

All the buttons on the cnter console just press in from above, not from below, so it's curious how yours got inside. Anyway, try this first - the little gray storage thing that looks like an ashtray also presses in from above. See if you can reach in the swith holes and pop it out. That will give you access to grab the switches.

Failing that, do this. Yank up quickly on your rear seat bottom about 8 inches in from the ends to release the cathes that hold it down. You will see two screws that hold the console down in back. Then inside your center armrest is a cover at the front bottom - not the OBD-II cover, but a fuzzy black one. Remove that and there is one more screw under there. Once you have removed these three screws, you will have enough play to lift up the console in the rear and get the swithes out.

You can remove the window swithes by prying them up, which will give you even better access to pop out the little ashtray.
