volvo c70 rag top with tranmission issues

Hey guys, my name is Jake and I have a feeling I may be on this site a lot. My first car was a 79 240dl and ever since I sold it in 96 I always said I'd buy another one, well I did. I now own a 2003 volvo c70 rag top that I picked up off Craig's list for next to nothing, I love the car, but ive owned it since jan 1 2014 and have already put in a new crank position sensor, plugs, and coils, yesterday while driving on the beautiful roads of detroit Michigan I hit a pothole and while rattling my whole body I also rattled something else, after sitting in park for about 20mins waiting for a friend my car started shifting terribly and slipping and the orange arrow and cel came on, I made it back home with the car in winter mode, parked the car, unhooked the batt.Started it this am to cel and flashing arrow still going, no trans fluid on the garage floor, but no idea what to do now. My plan is to go plug it in at autozone tomorrow, I ordered from amazon some mobil 3309 because a car can always use a trans flush and fill, but im afraid of what's going on, if anybody has any suggestions as to what to check please feel free to reply

Hi and welcome to the forum.

There is a chance that you have a PNP switch issue. Chances are, AutoZone will not be able to get the tranny codes, you may have to find a Volvo shop for that.

Here's a link to the PNP cleaning:

Try doing a drain and fill 2-3 times. Not a flush. That has helped people before. Also check for the mounts and bushings. They usually crack with age and cause bad shifts and flares on those model years
