Wheel sizing

check out Wheel-size.com as a reference source.
Correct size for that model is a 235/40-18. There's about a 14% difference in the circumference so even if it fit under the fender your gearing will change by that amount - ie when driving at a road speed of 60, your speedo will read 51... so fit under the fender - perhaps. Fit the car - not even close.

I think you are talking about the height and width of the tire (assuming the 18" to be consisent)... No problem, and understand, with the size of the tire. I am talking the offset of the rim; the impact/concern of the offset between a 45 and 55. 45 is defined for the car, but what happens if I move to a 55 offset?
