Default Wind Deflector and Roof Up

With a 2012 C70 Can the wind deflector remain installed with the Roof able to go up and down without removing the Deflector each time?

Default You should be able to

Ahoy!

The wind deflector slots into place via the locating points on either side of the rear seating compartment and the smaller flip-up section of the deflector only goes about the height of the front seat headrests and therefore will not interfere with the roof up/down operation (on Mk 2 anyway).

Is your deflector an OEM or generic make/model? I bought new generic make/type for around GBP £70.00 (delivered) from an evilBay vendor in Germany. The difference to the OEM version is that it doesn't fold in half to a smaller size nor does it have a storage bag, but as a product, it dies the same job but at a much lower price to the OEM version.

Hope the info provided will be of use to you. I'm new to the brand, so a learning curve for me as well, but I tried the service message display reset method and it worked like a charm. My car is a 2007 C70 SE D5 Geartronic Auto, but for the rag-top Series 1 in direct comparison, I can't be 100% sure, but it shouldn't be any different.

Default Have you tried it yet?

Ahoy!

I don't see why not as I'm sure there's sufficient room between the roof and the deflector, and just for peace of mind, fold down the vertical section behind the front head rests before putting the roof up.

Maybe you could update your thread with your findings as other Mk 1 C70 rag-top owners may find the info useful, but FWIW, I'm a relatively new Swedish meatball owner of a 2007 C70 SE D5 Geartronic (possibly the cheapest in the UK in July 2007) and I bought a new wind deflector from a German evilBay vendor for about £70,00 (delivered) several months ago, but it doesn't fold in half like the OEM version or have a case, so a small price to pay in comparison.

Could you update your thread and let us know how you got on?

TTFN.

I purchased the OEM wind deflector for my ‘07 C70 and now have it in my ‘11 C70 and the deflector fits perfectly with the top up or down.

I just washed my 2007 C70, dropped the hardtop, installed the OEM windscreen, raised it back up and it gently, just barely, brushes against it. Top up, windscreen installed! 👍
