Default Auto Skid Repair Required

I have a 2007 Volvo C70. "Auto skid Repair Required came on the dash, then brake failure. Brake failure went off .I slowed down to make a turn and couldn't accelerate . I had to park in a parking lot overnight bc once I turned the key off and turned it back on, it did nothing. I had enough brake fluid and my bayybat is good. I went to get it towed to the volvo mechanic after a couple of days, and it started fine but I still had it towed bc I didn't want to drive it and make it worse. My mechanic said nothing came up on diagnostic machine and they couldn't get it to replicate . I took car home and it has happened 2 more times, but brake failure didn't come on these times. Any ideas?? Help!! MecjMech has no idea he said .

In my experience, most of the time the problem is the steering angle sensor/clockspring assy. If you are getting the message on the dash, then there should be a code in the ABS module.

Thank you!!! They keep telling me nothing comes up on their diagnostic machine. Supposedly he researched it and said he read where it could be the key. The car isn't reading the key anymore. I used my other key and after driving about 30-35 miles it popped up again so I immediately headed home.

Unless they scan each module, they are not going to find the code. They may not have software to access all of the Volvo modules. However, I'm not recommending that you change anything until you get a proper diagnosis.

The clockspring is not common on the P1 at all. It is more common for the front hubs to partially come out of the spindle. You need the codes though.
