Brake Recall Across Models
 

I did not know anything about this recall until today. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a6...evs-and-phevs/

My latest software version is 3.3.16, and it is not clear that you can get the brake fix OTA (in version 3.6.4). Apparently, some got it OTA, but it appears the OTA download may have been stopped.

Has everyone else known about this, and if so, have you all been updated to correct the issue? Seems like recall notices are not going out until Aug, which given the severity of the issue seems problematic to me.

Looking at the recall notice, it appears the problem was introduced in 3.5.14? I've got 3.3.16 as well, so maybe we're not impacted yet?
I'm also affected by the backup-camera recall, and a fix will apparently be made available OTA "at a later date". Maybe I can avoid the brake problem firmware altogether when that update comes.

We have just had 3.6.4 ota and it says it addresses these issues.

Thanks for the responses CeeJay and BoatNick. I had read that 3.5.14 may have introduced the problem (in which case those of us with older versions should be ok), but was not sure whether to really rely on that. I am not using the B mode for now. The NHTSA recall notice does not mention anything about software versions, and Volvo’s websites are not helpful in any way. Will continue to hope the OTA update drops here. Thanks

i have not gotten a notice.yet but my XC60 PHEV would be vulnerable. agree august seems like a long time to wait.
i got a recall notice in May, aand was upgraded to software 3.5.24. i had been experience weird lane-changing correction behaviors even when drive assist was off.

on 3.5.24, i got notice of upgrade to 3.6.24 ion my Volvo app n June, stating that it would available for OTA 'about 3 weeks' after the software release date. about 2 weeks later, the notie was changed to workshop-only.

on 3.5.24 - I have experienced 2 episodes of weird behavior, both during backing up, and both with acceleration, not slowing when depressing the brake pedal. this is curious to me since I thought 3.5.24 was supposed to address some back-up camera issue.

i have a love-hate relationship with this car, so waiting for another update. what is the best way to report safety concerns?

I was offered 3.7 software OTA today and have successfully installed it. This should contain the fix, let’s hope it doesn’t introduce new issues.

I also received the update and was about to install. I was traveling, however, and decided to wait just in case there were issues. Apparently, there are issues, and 3.7 has seemingly been pulled as an OTA. I can no longer install it, and it says my software is up to date. A quick search revealed this:
“Users are reporting various issues after the Volvo 3.7 software update, including glitches with the digital display, camera system, and Apple CarPlay, along with problems like a sudden low tire pressure warning.”

Volvo’s software updates are starting to create some pretty strong backlash. One update led to the brake issue, and the next two have been pulled because of the mess they created across a range of functions. Ugh.
