I have version 3.0.3 software in the car in my new 2024 ( 3 weeks old) and the app says I should update 3.1.2 And it says it has to be done at the dealership and not OTA at home. I go the dealership and they say my software is up to date. Is my app on my phone wrong or is the dealership wrong?
when you get a chance ask them and post their answer. My local Volvo dealer service says there is no update needed. Phone says otherwise. Yesterday my center screen went black, could be nothing. restarted and still black. I was able to drive home. Plugged it in for 15 minutes and then restarted in full E Center screen came up.
I would like to know if others have had a black center screen? did it cause the car to not run?
If anyone on the forum could check their phone app and see if they are running update 3.1.2. It says this had to be done at the dealership. Did anyone go to the dealership to get this update. If so, when?

Just checked my brand new XC60 recharge, and I am running 3.1.2. I picked it up a few days ago. Not sure if I downloaded it, or it came with that version. I downloaded a ton of stuff.
The 3.1.2 came out on May13th. Yes I am sure the dealership checked and either updated or it was already in the computer from MFG before pickup. I picked mine up on May 13th and so I did not get that update. It also says 3.1.2 has to be done at the dealership. The dealership tells me that mine is up to date with the older version.
thanks for the response. I am hoping others will speak up as I am trying to build a case to get the dealership to do the update. I just had my center screen go black last week and stay black until the car was charged up after battery being fully drained. It almost seems like a reboot of the system.
Have you tried going to a Volvo dealership and checking their new cars (case built)? Since mine is brand new, I assume they are coming this way?
Maybe this will help:
Oh yea I have. I'm posting here in order to get a case built why they need to do the update. I think they just did a quick check on the screen which says it's up to date. So I'm using the form to try and get people to tell me what update they have so I can continue to build my case. I don't know why they wouldn't update as the get paid for it
Read this on the swedespeed forum: "And according to internal sources at Volvo, 3.1.2 has also been pulled. It is bricking infotainment units on some cars with 3.0.3."
Also this: "it seems 2.x -> 3.1.2 is valid. 3.0.3 -> 3.1.2 is not valid."
From what I am reading, don't be in a rush to get 3.1.2, wait for the next update.

My dealer didn't say it had been bricking units, just that they knew it was there and then Volvo had pulled it. I guess we don't have to be disappointed anymore that we were the lost 'Stepchild' LOL
I came out from lunch a little while ago and my screen said it was ready to do an update. I waited until I got home and left it in the driveway to maintain the satellite view and locked the car. It's updating now, I'll report back if anything untoward happens. There was also a notice in my 'drivers' display something was needed re: the SOS button. Hopefully it was part of the update. It said allow approx. 90 minutes for the update to complete. Hmm, appears I need to update and wash my oily fingers LOL
The update seems to have performed as it should have (so far), without any obvious issues. The previous message in the drivers display re: the SOS button was as I suspected, and so far, has disappeared. The only obvious thing I've noticed so far is the map in the main display 'does' disappear when in reverse. I don't use it then anyway LOL.
got my first update installed, 3.1.9. Got notice on the app and then followed instructions. All went well. No need for dealer. This vehicle is really a well made SUV. So many great safety features. Even though I had a 2021 XC 60 recharge, there is more to learn.
Volvo Software update 3.1.9 July, 2024 - Battery range now 46 miles !!
Updated OTA Software (ver 3.1.4) on my 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge T8, update worked fine, but today after charging via level II charger noticed 46 miles (battery range) not sure if this is an error or there is an "increase in batter range" ...??

Battery Range after OTA 3.1.9
2022 xc60 recharge PHEV, newly acquired, on 3.0.3.
upgrades did show up to 3.1.4 on my console, but OTA wouldnt't work, since there are 3 upgrades in the queue?
i went to my Volvo service center and they said they could not update the software unless I complained about a problem, because volvo would charge them for the software (??)
Volvo support at first said they'd take care of it, but then said talk with my service center if i was having problems, and now my console shows 3.0.3 as the latest version.
this seems less than transparent.
can someone shed light on this process?
the 'problem' im having is that i cant schedule charging, but i'm not sure this was a featture in 2022.
thx!
