Default 00 S40 Puzzler

2000 S40 1.x turbo automatic, 132,000

Running fine heading home and it dies when idling to a stop, was able to start it and get it home with gas/brake during stops.

I tried cleaning the IAC and it made no difference, car will only run when pressing on the gas. I checked the fuses and the engine 10A fuse was blown. Replaced it and it blew again. Disconnected the IAC, removed plastic covers over spark plug wires, disconnected the cam sensor by spark plug wires, disconnected maf and it still blew.

I then disconnected the 1-4 coil and the fuse blew again.

I am tired of going through fuses, anyone have any ideas on where to look next?

Welcome to the Forum!

Which fuse is it? There is a number for each fuse slot on the fuse box cover. Find the number and look up what it controls in the owners manual.

if it is fuse 21 in the engine compartment it is for the engine subsystem it says. it powers both o2 heaters, crank case vent, turbo control valve, iac, evap canister purge. Start with the pcv heater. i think it is in the air tube between the air filter and throttle body but not sure. that seems to be the common problem if it dosent stop blowing go down the list till it dosent or you have a short in the harness loads of fun
