2003 s40.
I've read many pages of posts so this is more to confirm for my specific car. I have an '03 S40. Keyless entry stopped working yesterday. Did the obvious and replaced the battery. Still no luck. No sound, nothing. My backup one also didn't work, but I didn't replace the battery yet.
Is there something internally wrong?
Am I stuck with dealer programming or will the on/off 5 times approach work? This is the switchblade-style key. As with many others, I'm not going to spend several hundred to get this fixed. I'd even opt to get a new non-switchblade key and transmitter, which may not even be an option for me.
Thanks in advance. In related/unrelated, I had an intermittent issue where immobilizer light would come on at startup, car would run fine. Comes and goes, and now is back consistently. Related?

 

I would check the keyless relay and also the antenna for the keyless. Lately I have been seeing threads on different forums on the keyless receiver antenna failing.
