03 S40 Speedometer not working
 

I have been idle several times at a stop light and the speedometer just isn't working. Sitting at 0. Other dials are moving.

I have one of those GoPoint bluetooth ODBII jobbies and while I'm driving it has the speed showing up on the app.

Later in the drive it will start working again. I have not found a pattern yet.

Not surely where to go from here in terms of finding out what's wrong with it.

The instrument cluster has 2 female connections in the back. The 2 moveable male connectors are mounted on a rail that is attached to the dash. The process is to move the male connectors to line up with the female openings and then firmly press the cluster so that the male connectors snap into the cluster. Now, it's possible that one of the male connectors have gotten loose over the years. Maybe try loosening the cluster and pressing it back into place until you hear it click into place? It could be the cluster is simply broken too. Let's hope it's just loose.
