'06 S40 2.4i A/C problems
 

Anyone having problems with their A/C? Will blow cold air, then just start blowing hot air as I'm driving. Sometimes it will go days working fine and then act up again.

sounds like the clutch is going bad inside it.

I had it in the shop yesterday. They told me the compresser, dryer & orifice all need to be replaced for $1,000. I picked it up without having the repairs done, since it works 2/3 of the time. I may take it to the Volvo dealership to get a 2nd opinion.

There is a condition that these cars can get into where the air handler servos get out of sync. In the climate control cars it can cause hot to blow out one side and cold out the other and weird stuff like that. The dealer would need to do a software update to fix.
