Default Fuel Line to Fuel Filter - Replace

I replaced my fuel filter (2001 S40) last week and have found that the piece with the 2 blue clips (from tank to filter I believe) didn't want to remain clipped on. Seems that the clip was worn or something.

It catches a little, but pops off when I start the car. I currently have it tie-wrapped together.

Volvo dealer couldn't locate the piece in their system, but mentioned I'd have to replace the whole line.

Has anyone replaced a line before? Do you know what part to purchase and how hard this is?

Maybe it is a problem with the filter itselfand not the line?

It is an OEM filter and matched exactly with the old one.

Getting the old one off was tough though as it had never been changed in 150KMs. It was rusted on and the blue clips did not want to be pushed. It took a lot of persuasion to get the hose off. When looking at the hose end, it was clear that the blue plastic piece was not forming back the way it should to hold it securely.

I may revisit this now that you mentioned that. Much easier to check this than to replace a fuel line. Any idea what it was with the filter that caused the problem?

It must have been the lip the clip locks on it must have been more round than square.
