Would appreciate any advise that can be given

Yesterday I pulled the cover off my old Volvo S40 and I'm struggling to get her to start, she was standing for a few years at a friends place.

The engine cranks but will not start, after investigating everything I found that there's no fuel coming to the fuel rail, I've checked all fuses and everything looks good, I sprayed a little quick start into the throttle body and she takes but dies again obviously because no fuel is coming to the injectors.

I've removed the fuel pump in the tank and connected 12v power to the pump manually and can here the pump running. checked the voltage on the connector to the fuel pump however nothing, if you put the ignition on it pushes 12v to the plug for a second and then 0v after that.

Could this be a relay issue or is there something else I'm missing,

I had a new key cut and coded so not sure if the fuel pump is linked to the immobiliser control module?

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

Your car is a different version than mine, but I believe the fuel pump IS controlled by the immobilizer. You should hear the pump power up for a couple seconds when you put the key in (or turn it to position II, whichever on your car activates the pump), and it sounds like that should be happening.

I'm just not sure if the immobilizer will allow this "priming" if it doesn't recognize the key. Maybe... but most immobilizers will disable the fuel pump from running until it sees a "friendly key".

I think the easiest thing to do at this point is to borrow or buy a fuel pressure gauge and see if you are getting pressure at the rail or not. That will effectively split the "system" in half, so you'll know where the problem is (injectors or control, or pump or control).
