2000 S40 Headlights
Good Day everyone. I recently came into ownership of a 2000 Volvo S40. I have noticed that the glass headlights are extremely dull & faded & also that the inside reflectors are completely faded as well.
As a result, night time driving is absolutely horrible. I've switched over to C9 LEE bulbs however that's made no difference. Can someone please advise as to how I could restore the inside reflectors back to it's original "chrome/mirror" look as well as how do I restore the glass lenses to be see-through/clear again? My lights are almost not visible at night, even with the BRIGHTS on. The hazy, milky look can be seen in the front view picture. I've attached pictures, but it looks much more worse in real life. Thank you kindly. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...4bde1fd46c.jpg Right side https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...b3ccd27910.jpg Left side https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...1921596413.jpg Front view |
the outside of the lense can be polished with a kit - check out Amazon/ebay etc. There are how to vids on Youtube as well. If the reflectors are bad then you might as well buy after market replacement buckets. They are also available on Amazon. start with the headlight restoration kit..
