2002 s40 OBD-2 P0015 code
My 2002 Volvo s40 just threw the P0015 OBD-2 code again. I know this can get expensive to fix. I am just wanting to start with the least expensive fixes first.
I know that replacing the hub would easily fix that, but it cost over $ 1000.00 and that is just too much money to spend for a 15 year old car. What are some ways to fix this which are much cheaper? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Respectfully, Newport_j |
It's not always the hub. Sometimes it's the solenoid. Still hate to throw parts at it. I'm not sure how you can test it.

What is the part number for a 2002 Volvlo s40 solenoid?
I guess that I can start there. Also, there are many videos on Youtube that show way to clean and test the solenoid on the Volvo s40. Are they any good? They frequently refer repair/cleaning of the solenoid. Does using Seafoam work? I do not want to damage my car and that stuff Seafoam does concern me. Respectfully, Newport_j |
I would definitely try cleaning before replacing.
Seafoam is one option. Marvel Mystery Oil is another. Many have had luck with adding a pint of auto trans fluid. Don't run anything for too long. It really thins out the oil. |
Seafoam and Marvel Mystery Oil will not damage the car's engine. I am very reluctant to try them.
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Respectfully, Newport_j |
