2002 Volvo S40 will not start

hi all, My daughters car is a 2002 Volvo S40 , great little car but starting to be a money pit.

She had been having a problem with hard starting and hesitation when accelerating and i took the car to local auto parts store and read the codes the main one was a 0351 and the recommendation was to replace coils, wires and plugs.

I had the parts but hadnt yet replaced them and the other day when leaving a store the car refused to start.

I replaced the coils and wires and still wouldnt start, today i replaced the plugs and the first 3 plugs were very wet and severely worn, plug #4 had some carbon buildup but didnt look too bad.

After replacingall the plugs teh car almost wants to start cranks and will sputter a little bit but not fire up. you can smell gas when this is happening and pressing on the fuel rail bleed valc shows fuel pressure.

I pulled the rail and checked the injectors and again 2 of them look severely dirty and # 3 and 4 look ok.

from the previous hard starting issue I am thinking Fuel pressure reg. I have also been told to look at Crankshaft Position sensor.

I know i should replace the injectors but thinking it should start even with dirty/clogged injectors and main concern right now getting it running.

thoughts? Ideas?

Help!

Thanks

I'm guessing fuel pressure regulator also. On my 2001 I first replaced the IAC because you could get the car to start by slightly pressing the throttle. When this didn't work I replaced the FPR after reading about another thread with a hard starting problem. This did the trick for me.

Wanted to update a solution. the Fuel Pressure regulator did solve the problem. Car starts right up and runs great again. I searched the price for the FPR and found prices all over the place

Rock Auto wanted 185 for a Standard Motors Pr406 and Amazon had the same part for $95.00 but couldnt overnight on Amazon for some reason. Ended up getting it overnight from Advance Auto They list ot for 124.99 but coupons are pretty easy to come to for that site and total with overnight shipment and tax was $123.00

Buy BWD/Intermotor Fuel Pressure Regulator 24114 at Advance Auto Parts

When I opened the box it was a genuine volvo part
