2004 Volvo S40 1.9T Transmission fluid?
Hello,
Checked my transmission fluid recently and looks like it needs a change. Did some reading and just wondering if anyone could tell me if there is drain plug on this auto transmission and filter inside? I couldn't find anything in the manual. Also...I read on some other Volvo models the fluid is Mobil 3309 to a JWS 3309 oil spec. Can someone confirm that is the same for my car? Should I have if actually flushed or just do a drain and fill myself? Car has about 50,000 miles (80000 km's). I don't think its ever been changed. Thanks.

Yes there is a drain plug (15/16"). There is a way to flush it on one of the other Volvo web sites (The dreaded AW 55-50 - 30 Forty 50). There is some controversy over flushing the transmission. Some say the fluid is permanent and should not ever be changed.
