2006 s40 t5
I've found a pretty decently priced, great looking '06 T5, but the Carfax says that it's been at the dealer 3 times for "Engine/powertrain computer/module reprogrammed". Is this fairly common? Or am I just asking for trouble?
Any advice would be appreciated. Even though the car is priced comfortably within my small budget, I wouldn't want to be shelling out every few months for electrical problems. Oscar |
The early years had a few software updates for various things. Once it has all the updates, and there haven't been any for a while now, it should be ok.

Thanks for the reply! The carfax report does mention that there was a recall back in 2005 for an ECM software upgrade, but up until 2008 they were still reprogramming...
I asked about scheduling a pre purchase inspection and they haven't gotten back with me, so there may be more to this vehicle than I can handle. It seems that everytime I find an S40 that I like, I scare the dealers off with the inspection question... |
