2008 S40 2.4i plug change

Hello - It's time to do a plug change on my '08 S40 2.4i, and I was wondering if there is anything special I need to worry about when taking off the intake manifold.

Specifically, I'm curious if there is a gasket between the plastic and metal portions of the intake runners that needs to be replaced, and what the tightening torque and correct tightening order is for the screws that hold the manifold onto the metal parts.

Once off, I assume there is a screw holding the coil in place and that it pops off the plug pretty easy.?

I did a search on this site and on the internet and could not find any info on the procedure, which is surprising.

Thnx!

You have to take the intake off? Oh my. My 2005 with 2.5L only needs to remove the plastic beauty cover to access the coils and plugs on top of the engine.

Nobody on this site has a service manual??

I would suggest a Haynes Manual at the very least if you are a DIY'er. For the most detail get a copy of VIDA off ebay. You need a 32 bit Pro version of Windows like XP Pro for it to work properly. Anything newer than 2008 is good.

I'm in Shanghai away from my Haynes and copy of VIDA so I'm no help. Here is a bump tho.

remove 8 (if I remember right) bolts attaching the upper intake plenum to the lower. Remove intake hose. Move upper intake out of the way. Piece of cake from their.

Plugs. Use NGK.

Tightness, plugs you want tight with a 3/8 drive ratchet -- snug really. Coils you want tight with a 1/4 drive ratchet. Intake...tight-snug with a 1/4 drive ratchet.
