2010 S40 2.0 Diesel Crazy Starting Issue
 

Hi, as of yesterday my 2010 S40 Diesel has developed this crazy starting issue where when you turn the key it cranks fine and actually starts but its almost as if its not firing on all cylinders

I have had this issue before when i purchased the car and its been to the dealer twice. First time they replaced the DPF and second time the DPF sensor alternator and battery both of these times it had an engine management warning and its been fine for another year.

Now though it has no warning messages at all and does start but you cant drive it when it does this. I turn it off and stamp on the accelerator pedal and then start and mostly it will fire up normally. I have spent a small fortune at the volvo dealers on this car and i wondered if someone here had a similar issue.

When it has started normally it drives fine with no issues at all, but as soon as you turn off and then try and restart it does the same thing. it fires up but its like its not firing on all pistons. you can not rev it when it does this and obviously the car wont move because of it.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
