AC clutch removal
My AC is working until the car is warmed up then it blows hot air. Seems that there is a fix by removing 2 of the 3 shims behind the compressor clutch. I got everything removed but cant get the clutch off the compressor. Any pullers that will help? Advice please.

It's only the outside face of the clutch that comes off. The large part with the pulley stays in place. I removed mine without removing the serpentine belt. Just remove the 10mm bolt in the middle and wiggle the outside part loose with a small flat blade screwdriver. Don't crank on it, just be gentle. It's old, like me. :)

Here is a thread with good pics: https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...shimming-6665/ Man I tryed to screw drivers and was worried it was going to bend something. I took the belt off too. Do you know if there is a puller that would work on it? |
I borrowed an A/C clutch hub puller and installer from Oreily and got the clutch to break free. There were 3 shims originally. I took the 2 thinnest out and put the clutch back together and it worked. Ice cold air! Thanks for the help.

Success! Old and stubborn they can be. Glad all is well.
