Alarm / Battery problems please help!
 

Hello,

My Grandfather has asked me to try and find out what is going on with his S40. The alarm keeps making a strange noise when the car isn't in use (the postman keeps kindly telling him!!) and if it goes un-noticed for sometime it makes the battery go dead. He took it to a garage the other week who told him they put in an overide switch and charged him £30. Think it stopped for a week but it has started again.

Can anyone shine any light on this for us please or give any advice - it would be greatly appreciated - I dont know much about cars so if you need more info please let me know.
