changed the battery today on the 2002 s40....it had the volvo battery, so i bought the elimator battery from canadian tire,,,
there was a piece of rubber that secured the volvo battery so it does not move, but now withe new battery can not secure the battery with that rubber piece, any hints to secure the battery so it does not move around,,and if it does move a bit is it dangerous

Potentially, yes. In the event of an accident the battery could move and cause damage if it splits the case. The gases could also ignite.

A lot of 'ifs and buts' on this subject but I have seen the results of loose batteriesin accidents on several occasions.

Have you considered a strap with a quick release buckle taken the length of the battery, underneath the battery tray and fastened on top or at the side of the battery? That is how I have mine fastened in on my Peugeot motorhome.
