Door stop driver side door

My driver side door gives a metallic crumpling sound when it is fully extended. ; it only started happening recently. I was told by a mechanic that the doorstop need replacing.

I have a 2002 Volvo s40. What is the part name and number and is it hard to replace?

Again this is the driver side door.

Thanks in advance.

Have similar Door Stop Problem 2000 S70

Yah, I didn't even know what to call the part...Is it expensive ??..
It allows the door to open half-way to keep from denting adjacent parked cars, and then fully open...
Looks like a ball-joint knuckle into the door post; guessing the inside door cover needs removed....what mysteries/nightmares await ??
Replace Window Regulator/Motor while we're in there ???
Any One ???

Have a look in VIDA!

Do you mean #7 in this pix?

That would be a 30652143.

Check with Tascaparts.com.

Heh, Tasca thinks a 30652143 is a wheel arch molding. I picked up the pic from
http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/im.../GR-368885.jpg

so I would guess Volvo Parts - Authentic OEM Volvo Parts direct from Volvo Parts Webstore | VolvoPartsWebstore.com would have the part. Around $46. This would be a good junker part, if they want less for it.

Number 7 in the pic is exactly what you need. You might as well pick up a new pin (part #10) at the same time (the piece that fastens the stop to the door). I changed mine (both) and my door opens smoothly once more - no noises! Picked a used stop up from a forum member - $50 is kinda steep for that bit of plastic.
