Default Drilled and slotted rotors

Do drilled and slotted rotors eat up the brake pads?

Default RE: Drilled and slotted rotors

Depends on how u drive the car.The purpose of drilled and slotted rotors is heat dissipation and saving some weight.Unless u do a lot of hi-speed driving including braking from hi speeds,u r not going to notice much gain from those kind of rotors,They look good but r of limited value for most of us.They do wear pads out faster than regular rotors if they are used for what they are designed for. Otherwise about the same. I have them on two Volvos and my MAzda truck with ceramic pads and have not noted any premature pad wear.BJ
