Driver's Seat Belt Perma-Locked
My wife came home today and told me that the driver's seatbelt on her 2000 V40 is perma-locked (as like in braking mode). It will retract and come out again but it take swift little tugs at a fraction of an inch per tug. I took the molding off to see if my son had used it as a coin deposit or something. Nothing inside to jam it. I now think it's just gone bad. I took a look to see if I could replace it myself. Looked simple enough. Although while I am clever, I'm no mechanic.
Am I getting over my head? Where could I get a new seat belt assembly? I'm I wrong about the seat belt being bad and all it needs is the magic touch? Thanks Chad |

Seatbelts are a terrible thing to install. Took one apart once... had this spring inside that made it hell.
