My fellow Volvo owners,

Just noticed some driver-side noise under the hood (like big Fluorescent tubes) once I pushed the key to my car before starting.
It starts once I push the key in (not even started the electric system or start the car). It disappears about 30 seconds after the car is turned off.

Brake fluid level is find. Oil level is fine. Battery is fine to start the car normally.

I found in "common questions" section that this may be caused by brake pump. I've located the buzz in the following pic, is it the brake pump?:

Maybe I should have asked, what is the silver-color item in the following picture (where the red arrow points at)? I've touched around and that's the place making noise:

Just learned the buzzing part is the Vacuum Pump.
So should I replace it myself? Take to dealer or it's just fine?

 

Hey guys, I think I found the solution:
2005 V50 T5: vacuum pump..the vac pump (..overheated..blown - JustAnswer

All I did is to press the brake paddle several times when the car is cold, then the vacuum pump works again!!
