Engine Splash Shield Replacement/Installation
1 Attachment(s)
As you can see in the attached picture my engine splash shield got ripped from my Volvo and I need to replace it.
I was wondering where I can buy an original shield cheaper than the dealership. Also where I can get instructions on how to instal. |
The plastic shield installs easily. There are 2 hooks toward the back that hook on the lower control arm brackets. Then there are either 5 or 7 torix screws that hold it in place (3 along the front edge, 2 in the back and I think 2 on the sides.
Try http://volvowholesaleparts.com/ . Their site seems to be down right now though. Might want to consider one of these for added protection.: Product Search: SKID PLATES, SPLASH PANS & AIR GUIDES Stan |
Thank you so much Stan. I ended up going to the dealer to buy the part. It cost me $127.00. The install was just like you said, easy!

Hey guys-My engine splash shield actually fell out (in the front) while driving last night. All of the front screws are gone. It's only being held up by the two back mounting points. I have a 2008 S40. What screws do I need (part number if possible). It's strange that I just had my oil changed a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they forgot to tighten? Thanks-Jeff
