"In the tank." I almost choked on that! All joking aside, it's accessed by removing the rear seats and lifting the carpet. The rear seats flip forward nice enough but the carpet was still in the way when I did it so I removed the rear seats completely.

Thanks so much, where there be a way to find out if the pump is bad? We took off the gas line that goes to the engine and we tried to turn it on but no gas came out of the line

Well, if the fuel pump fuse is good and you get no fuel out then it's bad. I just replaced mine in a 2001 about a month ago. It was not hard at all, but it did cost $305 at Autozone with tax. That is the best price I found among Advance, Rock Auto, FCP Euro, IPD, etc.

There is a fuse. Please tell me you checked the fuse first?

I would disconnect the electrical connector at the fuel pump and check for voltage when you turn the key on and when cranking.

Voltage at the pump? Ok, does the pump make noise when you turn the key on?
