Default Head unit installation

I'm trying to install a head unit into my 01 S40, and I have a few questions. What install kit did anyone here have success with? I found somewhere that Metra's 99-5512 works, but I bought it and the instructions do not list a Volvo version, it's mainly Ford. Did I buy the wrong kit, or does anyone know how to make this one work? I also bought the underneath pocket, if it will make any difference in your reply. Also, I am installing a Kenwood KDC-5019 that I have had lying around for a year or two, and I don't have the collar piece, that I would normally put into the dash then slide the cd player into. Will this be a problem, or can I install it without the collar? Thanks.

Checl with a good company on the head set.
I think the Volvo engine is nothing like ford has ever made.

With the radio you are going to try to install a thin radio where you take out a big radio so you will also need a dash kit to make it work. Then it really shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm not referring to the engine at all, I'm installing a CD player. What I meant was I bought a dash kit that I read somewhere would work for my car, but it did not come with instructions for my car. And will not having the collar piece for the CD Player be a problem?

Might and might not you may have to make a bracket to stop it from sliding out.

Sorry I got you wrong.
