headlight adjustment
Hello,
I recently noticed that my headlight beams (2000 s40) are lighting up about 6ft of road in front of me *yikes* are they difficult to adjust manually? or should i take it to the dealer for adjustment any advice would be terrific :-) |
RE: headlight adjustment
Hi,
I'm not privy to S40, as I'm an 850 driver. But if you didn't receive any reply, I would purchase a commercially-available service manual, which would benefit you in other repairs. I hope this gives you some hints. JPN |
RE: headlight adjustment
Headlight adjustment is best carried out with beam setting equipment to get it really accurate.
Most DIY methods involve measuring the height of the centres of the lamps andthe distance between the centres and transferring these measurements onto a wall or fence.Position the car about 10 feet away from the wall so the marks are aligned with the centres of the lights, switch on and adjust the lights to match the marks. At best this will get them somewhere near right. A lot of work for second best. Find a repair shop with beam setters, not necessarily a dealer, and pay a small charge to have thejob done properly. |
