Default Headlight Alignment

My headlights on my 2006 S40 seem to be pointing 6 feet in front of my car. How can I adjust them to point further out?

Default RE: Headlight Alignment

If the headlight adjustment is the same as the earlier model (prior to 2004.5) then you can raise the beam by turning the adjustment on the back of the headlight assembly clockwise. Open the hood and look at the back of the headlight assembly inside the engine compartment. You will see a white plastic **** that is poking out of the back of the headlight assembly this controls the up down movement of the headlight beam. Turning this **** clockwise will raise the beam up. You can align them by pointing the car at a brick wall and measuring the height and compare that to a chart or you could put two cars side by side to compare the heights. I happen to have the same problem but mine are too high.
